Macintosh External Video Kit
Apple Computer, Inc. -- 1985
Soon after the Macintosh was introduced it became a very popular platform for preparing presentations -- but there was no way to display its screen on large monitors or video projectors. Customers clamored for a solution until Apple produced this retrofit kit that gave Macintoshes an external video connector.
This was a small, fast project, and Bill acted as both Project Manager and Lead Engineer. Bill had been involved in a number of in-house video efforts, and was able to draw upon work done elsewhere within Apple to quickly bring this product to market.
Bill was responsible for the electrical design, mechanical design, PC board design, labeling, testing, bill of materials, schematic, assembly drawings, installation instructions, packaging... and just about everything.
